Regional innovation analysis and further development of the innovation strategy of the WIR! alliance Plant³ (RIIS)
The aim of the project is to analyse the regional innovation system of the bioeconomy in north-eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. An innovation system includes a number of different actors – such as companies, universities, research institutions, as well as supporting organisations and public administration. In order to understand how innovations in the bioeconomy emerge in our region, the roles of the different actors in the development of the regional bioeconomy and their concrete contributions to the development and implementation of innovations are examined. In addition, the needs of the regional actors and possible barriers to innovation are identified. On this basis, a continuous further development of the innovation strategy of the Plant³ Alliance will take place in order to establish the bioeconomy in the long term as a path to a sustainable and viable regional economy.
Based at the Chair of Economic and Social Geography, the RIIS project is led by the chair holder and alliance spokesperson Prof. Dr. Daniel Schiller . The project manager is Lena Stock.
